Bringing medical images to life, as intuitive holograms

We’re a team of specialists in medical imaging, AI, and 3D visualization dedicated to advancing surgical precision and patient care.

By combining advanced technology with years of close collaboration with surgeons, we’re building tools designed to support better, faster, and safer surgeries.

Origin Story

In 2016, Oslo University Hospital’s Intervention Centre partnered with Sopra Steria, which had acquired one of Europe’s first HoloLens devices, to explore the potential of mixed reality in surgery. The hospital’s leading surgeons collaborated with Sopra Steria to investigate how this technology could transform surgical procedures.

In 2019, HoloCare was formed as a company, bringing together Norway’s leading augmented reality specialists with pioneering surgeons. This unique collaboration aimed to make holographic visualization an essential part of complex procedures.

Transforming medical imaging

Today, many critical surgical decisions still rely on interpreting black-and-white CT and MRI scans, leaving room for different interpretations.

At HoloCare, we enhance this data with AI segmentation, analyzing each slice to create a detailed 3D model. This model then becomes an interactive hologram.

Going forward, we’re expanding to more clinical areas as well as bringing our technology into the operating room to give surgeons holographic navigation.
